East Coast Trains will then be carrying out Tyre Turning, this has become necessary due to a minor flat on one tyre and also the flanges are nearing their minimum operational thickness. It is the first time that 55 022 has had its tyres turned for well over 10 years, so no surprises it is now ready!! In addition the necessary Speedometre Calibration will be done as well as Ultrasonic Testing of the Axles and Bogie Equalising Beams whilst the chance is available, the current certification on the Axles and EQ Beams expires in mid March 2015.

Following this work the loco is due to return to Knorr-Bremse Rail Services at Springburn ready to work the first E.M.U. move of the New Year which is currently scheduled for Friday 9th January. We will as always endeavour to keep the site up to date with news and timings as they become available.
