Firstly thanks to all who attended the Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway Winter Diesel Gala, it was very well supported and as always ‘Royal Scots Grey’ was much appreciated. Special thanks to all involved at the S.R.P.S. in organising the event and Andy McLean and the Diesel Group at Bo’ness for looking after the loco and Andi Fennymore for his much valued assistance.
As previously mentioned 55 022 had its wheels turned yesterday by East Coast Trains at Craigentinny Depot and the Ultrasonic Axle and Equalising Beam tests should be completed today. That just leaves the speedometer to be calibrated, brake adjustment, check the height of AWS receiver and Life Guards and adjust if necessary and carry out another full ‘Fitness To Run’ examination and service prior to the loco returning back to K.B. Rail Services at Springburn. The light engine run is scheduled for Thursday 8th January and timings are shown below:-
