55 022 remaining as 55 018 ‘Ballymoss’ returned to Grosmont as advised on Wednesday 28th June, arriving on time and was examined next morning by the Railways competent staff as part of our Hire Agreement and for their Fitness To Run purposes and all was once again found to be in tip-top condition.
The railway’s intensive ‘Gold’ timetable begins operation for the peak summer period on the 24th July and runs until 2nd September. We expect the loco to be playing a big part primarily on the diesel diagram, which sees trains departing from Pickering at 10.00 and 15.00 and departures from Grosmont at 13.30 and 18.35. At this stage dates are still being finalised and we will endeavour to advise these real soon. We hope that many Deltic fans will travel behind the loco during this time. Further info can now be found at https://www.nymr.co.uk/Event/scheduled-diesel-services
In addition the loco is once again a ‘stand-by loco’ at Grosmont M.P.D. and as such the loco could be called in to service any day at the last minute, particularly on services to Whitby where fitted TPWS and GSM-R is essential. As always, we will try and advise any such workings both here on the website and also on the 55022 Facebook pages.
